Android Marshmallow Update For Moto X Play:Now, here is the update about the release date of Marshmallow on Moto G 2014, 2015; Moto X Play, 2nd Gen, 3rd Gen, Moto E so Moto X Play owners have begun receiving the new firmware (build number: MPD24.65-18) OTA (Over-The-Air) notification. It is around 583MB in size and brings the new Doze power saving feature, which is said to extend battery life by at least 30% depending on the device's internal hardware Android Marshmallow Improvements.

Moto X Play Now Receiving Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update in India In a separate report from IB Times, it published that Motorola Inc. plans to include the Moto X Play, Moto Turbo, Moto G (both 2nd and 3rd Generation), and Moto X (second generation), as well as the Droid Turbo and Moto Maxx in the next Android Marshmallow update. However, the article did not say the release date of the upgrade.

Meanwhile, Moto X Style phones in Brazil and India have received the latest update. For European Moto X users, they would get the new operating system in the next few weeks. Moto X (2014 edition) owners in the United States, Canada, India, and the United Kingdom is also included in the upgrade.

Motorola also included tons of upgrades and enhancements in the latest update. Moto phone users can now find an option for 'Do not disturb' under the 'Sound and notification' settings to make sure they would not be interrupted during meetings or while sleeping. The feature is similar to Moto Assist, so the tech company is removing Moto Assist as part of the upgrade to M.

Moto X Android Marshmallow Update [How to install]

After rolling out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the Moto G (Gen 3) earlier this month, Motorola has now started seeding the Marshmallow update for the Moto X Play in India and Brazil.

The OTA update MPD24.65-18 weighs roughly 590MB and is likely to reach other Moto X Play users around the globe soon. It is worth mentioning that the Moto X Style, which launched along with the Moto X Play, started receiving the update last month. Users can manually check for update via Settings > About Phone > System Update.

How to install Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA on Moto X Play:

[Note: Moto series owners are advised to make sure the device has at least 50% battery so that the installation doesn't get interrupted mid way. Also make sure download update on Wi-Fi connection for smooth installation experience and to avoid hefty data bill]

If you have received a notification message for this update:

1. Select "Yes, I'm in".

2. After the software is downloaded, select "Install now".

3. After the software is installed, your phone will re-start automatically.

4. Your phone is now updated to Android 6.0.

It has to be noted OTA roll-out is being staged in phases, so it will take a few weeks to reach all corners. Until then, readers can follow the steps below to manually check for update on your phone by-

1. Select the Settings icon in the apps menu.

2. Select "About phone".

3. Select "System updates".

4. If the update is ready, select "Yes, I'm in". After the software is downloaded, select "Install now".

5. After the software is installed, your phone will re-start automatically.

6. Your phone is now updated to Android 6.0.
