However, the exact date of the rollout was not mentioned in the tweet.The third-generation phone of the Moto G series will now be upgraded from Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop) to Android 6.0.The 2 GB update will add features like “Doze Mode” to extend the battery life, Google Now on Tap and a simpler volume control and would remove the “Migrate” and “Assist” apps.

Here is a heads up about the Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) update for the Moto G (3rd Gen). The version for the update has been named as v24.11.25, which is 2GB in size (it’s huge, so you will need to clear up some storage on your phone to make space). The update brings along Android security update (patches) for December. It will also introduce a host of new features such as overhauled app permissions, Doze, Google Now on Tap, Android Pay, and many more.

since this is a Motorola device, your phone will continue to run a near-stock version of Android even after the Marshmallow update.
