Get the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update on your Nexus 

1. Turn your Nexus off.
2. Press and hold Power and Volume Down to restart your Nexus to the bootloader (see image below).
3. Connect your Nexus to your computer with a USB cable.
4. Open a Windows Explorer window and find the unpacked firmware you downloaded to the ADB Tools folder.
5. Double click the flash-all.bat file and let it do its thing.
6. Your Nexus will reboot and should now be running Android Marshmallow. If it doesn't, check the troubleshooting section below.

1) Find out apps that are consuming more battery and make adjustments accordingly. You can disable some unnecessary apps to help increase battery life. 4) Downgrading to another android version is another option to solve the battery issue.

5) If nothing works out, may be you will have to go for a factory reset. The process will erase all the data in the device, so don't forget to backup the files.
